Senior QA Automation Engineer (AI & Playwright Specialist)

Location: Ireland (Remote)

Senior QA Automation Engineer:
AI & Playwright Specialist

This isn't your standard "record and play" QA job. You will be responsible for architecting a Playwright-based automation framework that leverages Generative AI to move fast. You’ll have the autonomy to choose the best AI tools, experiment with new LLM prompting techniques for testing, and fundamentally change how we ship code.

Our platform is highly dynamic and data-driven. We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer who doesn't just write scripts, but builds intelligent testing systems. You won't just be maintaining a suite; you will be pioneering the use of AI to accelerate our entire Quality Engineering lifecycle. Your initial goal is to transform our manual testing suite into a robust, automated ecosystem. Subsequent to this initial project, you will work closely with the development and product teams to test new features, expand and deepen test coverage, embed quality early, and accelerate delivery pace.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Architecture: Design and implement a scalable end-to-end (E2E) automation framework (e.g., Playwright)

  • AI-Driven Scripting: Utilizing LLMs and AI tools to ingest manual test cases and automatically generate robust Playwright scripts.

  • Intelligent Maintenance: Implementing AI workflows to analyze tests and test results, auto-fix broken selectors, and self-heal scripts as the UI evolves.

  • Signal vs. Noise: Using AI to filter through test failures, instantly flagging false positives (environment issues/data shifts) and escalating legitimate regressions.

  • Ecosystem Management: Organizing automated testing for a platform with thousands of dynamic data states, ensuring our platform complexity is fully covered.

  • Jira Integration: Automating the bridge between test failure and developer action by generating high-quality, AI-summarized bug reports in Jira.

Requirements

Required:
  • The Framework Expert: Deep, hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred) or similar such as Cypress/Puppeteer.

  • The Architect: Proven track record of managing automation for large-scale, data-driven platforms. You know how to manage test data at scale.

The AI Enthusiast: Experience (or a very high aptitude) using AI to write, debug, and optimize tests and test scripts.

  • The Frontend Polyglot: You are comfortable navigating a modern SPA stack and legacy pages to identify selectors and understand UI logic.

  • Core Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python. Proficiency with source control, such as git.

Nice to have:
  • Experience transitioning a legacy manual suite to an AI-accelerated automated suite.

  • Previous experience in the Ed-Tech sector.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).

Benefits

  • 100% remote work

  • Uncapped commission structure with accelerators for exceeding quota

  • 100% coverage for employees medical, dental, and vision benefits

  • 401K and company match

  • Generous vacation policy

  • Employee assistance and wellness programs
