Cloud Operations Engineer - Windows

Reporting to the head of Cloud Engineering, this role will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure and scalable cloud services and infrastructure to support Skillwell’s product offering.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, monitor, and administer cloud applications and services.

• Manage system performance and ensure compliance with operational requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

• Conduct regular system patching and manage upgrades to software releases.

Requirements

Required:

2-3 years of experience in:

• Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure, including security settings and access controls.

• Implement monitoring tools to track system health and performance.

• Provide escalated support for complex problems and issues.

• Participate in incident management and service restoration efforts.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022).

• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure or AWS.

• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

• Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in server administration and cloud operations, particularly with Microsoft Windows Server.

• Must be based in Ireland

Desirable:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

• Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
